Hey everyone...well winter is upon us and up here in the Bay area things have been getting a bit wet and cold. I decided to experiment a little by using a thicker pen to capture the "mucky" quality of the weather.
I was lucky too because the ink would bleed a little more with this type of pen and sort of dirty up the paper a little bit. Then I went in and layered a cold blue grey with the computer to finish them up.
Stay warm everyone and stay tuned for more!!

The color and brush on these are very gloomy and depressing! Fantastic!
beautiful drawing, love how you capture the character's gesture and expression!
When I first say your blog a couple weeks ago, I thought, "Wow, this guy is really comfortable in his own style." Your style isn't pretentious, too complicated, or show-offish. It's marvelously honest and (not to sound silly) very pure in it's expression.
Really nice work, man.

PS For some reason I can't log on.
Living in Seattle I'm way too familiar with this feeling.
Fun Stuff man.
Hey Chris

Wonderfully dreary. The bleed is perfect. Speckles and spatters might be cool too if you were ever to develop these further.
Great!
...for some reason I can't post either.
Thanks so much for your comments everyone...
I think the reason why people cant comment is because my blog has been converted into the Blogger Beta version. Is anyone else having trouble???
Hi Chris ...no probs with your beta version for me... really nice work as always on your blog. There is something really expressive and meaningful in these two last posts.
Hi Chris, these sketches are really great!!

I love the expressive quality and natural feeling in your drawings. Youre inspiring me to go out and do some watercolour sketches. Love all your work!!
