Travel Journal: Spain!

This past Christmas, Joy and I went to Spain and saw lots of cool sights and ate lots of great food...Now, taking pictures is cool (I took about a thousand) but it was even cooler when I got the chance to sit down, take in the sights and sketch! Bringing a sketchbook and creating a travel journal was one of the best things I did on this trip and next time I go, I'm definitely doing it again.
This first one highlights just some of the AMAZING food we had in Cordoba when we visited La Mezquita. It was an old mosque that was converted into a cathedral.


This next one is of the Alhambra in Granada. It used to be a Muslim stronghold that was conquered by the Spanish. I think the painting could've been a little less overworked but I was FREEZING cold at the time.


I'll also try to post some of my actual pics from my digital camera sometime...until then, enjoy!

Watercolor Sketches

What do you get when you're at work with some watercolors and you're procrastinating? A couple of watercolor sketches, that's what! (Not that I'm advocating procrastination or anything...I like working...yeah....)


....it gets kinda lonely here at night.....guess I'll paint a basketball and a computer tower...


.....I've been in this office for almost a year and those pesky moving boxes are still there!!!

T-Shirt Contest!!

A couple of weeks ago here at work, production asked all the animators on Flushed Away to submit designs for crew shirts. Most crew shirts I get always has a large silkscreen of a character from the movie and very few ever appealed to me. I figured that a simple graphic that looked like a skate shirt would look cool, so this is the design I turned in. There were alot of submissions turned in recently and people were asked to vote for their favorite. Tomorrow, they announce the winner....I'll keep my fingers crossed!
