So, the other day, my bus was half an hour late (thanks Muni, you SUCK), causing me to miss my bullet train to Redwood City.... What this means is that instead of getting on the train and having only three stops to get to my destination, I had to sit through like 7 other stops. Instead of just sitting there, I decided I would draw the lamp at each city's train station. Here they are in numbered order : (Click to enlarge picture)
It was pretty amazing to see the variety of each city's lamp design. Some are very ornate (like the ones in San Carlos) and some are ugly and utilitarian (like the ones in Hillsdale). So if you are ever fortunate (or unfortunate ) enough to sit through a lengthy trainride, make sure to check out the difference in design for each one of their stops....it may just amaze you!

your lamp studies are delicious.
Cool studies!...and a great idea.
that's so cool.
Chua!! Wow, congrats on getting married. That's awesome. And it's cool that you went to my home of Hawaii. It must have been great there. Thanks for the message on my blog. Seriously, I've been so busy that I haven't updated it in months. Everything at July is good, lots of hard work and long hours but I'm really enjoying the work. At the moment, we're almost done with development for a TV series. So you're in Redwood City? I drove up there once and loved it. The smell of the forest...
Interesting... I was wondering how the dumpsters in those cities look like.
mickey, willy, scott, steve-thanks a bunch guys...It's better than just sitting there doing nothin and getting bored.
kiozu-thanks for the warm wishes. Hawaii was great. went to Oahu and Kauai..Although I think Oahu was better. I'll be working here at Redwood city for another month or so...Keep in touch.
Don Gabri...I'll make sure to try and draw the dumpsters the next time this happens! Ciao!
