Here are some cafe sketches I did last weekend. The weather was AMAZING and there were lots of people out and about soaking in the sun!
These last two were from a page out of my new japanese Maruman sketchbook. It's a bit on the expensive side ($30) but worth it for the amount of pages and the thickness of the paper is a good balance between a Moleskine and heavy watercolor paper:

Have you tried the Moleskine watercolour books? I'm curious to try them myself, being a fan of standard moleskines.
