New Orleans Travel journal Part 5.5 THE FOOD!

Hey Bloggers!  Well, you know I can't have a New Orleans travel journal without profiling some of the food.  Here's just a sampling of some of the most unique and mouthwatering dishes we had in the Big Easy.  First up is the alligator sausage cheesecake at Jaques Imo's
Next is a plate of mussels with french fries with garlic cream sauce at Herbsaint.
This next dish was a spaghetti with pig cheek chunks, bacon and a fried poached egg

This dish was one that I had at Commander's Palace. Jumbo sea scallops with shittake mushrooms, red lentils and potatoes.
Next is the fried crab claws at Casamentos!

And how can you have dinner without dessert?  This one was a banana tart with caramel and vanilla ice cream on the side.
So between sweet, fluffy beignets at Cafe Du Monde and an impromptu lunch while walking along the French Quarter, I felt truly lucky to have experienced the amazing cuisine New Orleans had to offer.   Needless to say, Joy and I are detoxing with salads for awhile but the rich food sure tasted great going down!
