Sculptures at the Orsay

Yet more photos of my trip to France. This time, I've got several photos of some sculptures I saw at the Muse D'Orsay. It's really hard to believe that humans can create such beauty sometmes. It's very inspiring for an artist to see this kind of artwork.

Yup...It left me speechless too....

Book of the Month- What is the What

Hey Bloggers! I just wanted to take a second to recommend a book by Dave Eggers called "What is the What"....It recounts the story of a Sudanese man named Valentino Achak who was one of the Lost Boys of Sudan. The book is really sad as it goes into detail about how Valentino was separated from his family during the bloody Sudanese Civil War and forced to fend for himself until he finally makes it to America. Here we see, through his eyes how lucky we are to live in a society where we have everything which we sometimes take for granted.
This book really opened my eyes to the pain and suffering a man can endure and still remain human. Simply Amazing.

Sainte-Chapelle

The small church of Sainte-Chapelle sits not too far from the Notre Dame Cathedral. Built in 1248 for King Louis IX, it may not be as pretty on the outside as Notre Dame but inside, it's absolutely AMAZING....covered wall to wall with amazing stained glass, the inside is breathtaking. As usual, please click on the pictures for a better look!

There's a total of 15 panels of stained glass with apparently more than 1,000 scenes depicted from the Bible.
While these pictures may look amazing, I still really cant put into words the feeling you get while you are actually there. So if anyone out there plans on visiting Paris in the near future, do yourself a favor and check out this church....

Cafe Sketches in Paris!

Hey Bloggers! Welcome back to the ongoing series of my Parisian exploits! Here's a couple of sketches I did while I was at a local cafe at St. Germaine in Paris.
The lady in pink was really cool. She just had such a european vibe to her. She was so pale and had rouge on her cheeks which almost made her look like a clown or something. What a character!
Yours truly in the middle of a sketch. Yes, that is my second cup of coffee:)
Stay tuned this friday for pictures of Saint Chapelle Church....
