Cafe Sketch-Professional Lunch

Hey Bloggers! Well, I'm still here in New Jersey, some 3000 miles away from home. Here's another quickie for you guys out there. This was actually done several weeks back. Since my lack of access to a scanner has been preventing me from posting my more recent sketches, you'll just have to settle for this....Ah, more of that brown paper!!

Stay tuned for my airport sketches coming soon!

Quote of the Week-Robert Henri on Effort

"The picture that looks as if it were done without an effort may have been a perfect battlefield in its making."

Potted Plant

Hey Bloggers! So at the moment, I'm home visiting my family in New Jersey for a few weeks. It's actually for my sister's wedding (Congrats Mark and Marlene!!!!) Anyways, don't think for a second that I have left you all out there in the lurch... Oh no, I haven't forgotten! Well, I've decided to get all artsy fartsy on you all today. This here's a potted plant that I've been eyeing and finally got a chance to draw in my brand new sketchbook the other day. Its got many colorful pages in it. Don't know why but I was drawn to the brown paper... This was drawn with a regular pen and I just added in the colors with my watercolor set and then put in the border in photoshop later.

Cafe Sketch-Reading the Tribune

Saw this man while sketching today at the local Starbucks. He had such a cool looking face (complete with pencil-thin mustache) and was reading his paper VERY close (he must've been near-sighted too!) Well, I just couldnt resist so I drew him!
Have a great weekend everyone!

China Beach!

Here's a watercolor pic I did while I was at China Beach Park. This was a rickety looking pier jutting out to the sea.
