ONE YEAR BLOG ANNIVERSARY!!!!

Hey Bloggers!! Wow.....has it really been a year already??? So much has happened in the last 365 days that its been hard to believe that it's only been one year. Just wanted to say thanks to everybody who has stopped by and shared their kind thoughts on my artwork. I'll make sure to post as often as I can so I hope you all come back. Anyways, on to business! Here are more cafe sketches I did the other day:

This first one is of a Paris Hilton type of girl I saw. After she ordered her Venti Mocha Frappuccino , I don't think she looked up once from her Razr phone because she was too busy texting a friend of hers. I don't know exactly what she was texting but I think what it says in the drawing comes pretty close:)

This next one is just of a random guy. I liked the proportions of his tiny head and blocky body.

Hope you all enjoy it! Thanks again everyone!

Cafe Sketch- A girl studying

Hey Bloggers! Another page from the ol sketchbook. This was done at the cafe the other day. Just tried to watch one person for awhile and tried to get some general "key" poses. This girl was getting some serious studying done. Unfortunately, another person sat in front of her and blocked my view. Anyway, these are the best 3 that I got. I'll try to do more of these again sometime this week.

A Match made in Heaven: Interesting Couples!!!!

Hey Bloggers! Here's another brand spaking new post to kick off your Monday! These are some interesting couples that I've noticed while sketching. This first one is of a rocker couple. The guy was very skinny, and had long, feathery hair. I think he likes Poison. His girl was also quite a looker herself. She came complete with fire red hair and also had super tight jeans.

This next two were also quite perfect for each other. In a word, they were both SLEEK....The girl had her hair pulled back so tight, I think her eyeballs were gonna pop out. She was also rocking the stilletto heels and the super expensive handbag made of genuine leather. Meanwhile her man was wearing an uber-tight Versace shirt (I only know that because it said it on the front of his shirt) and equally tight designer pants. Sheesh...

I'll be on the lookout for some more cool couples and will post them as they come in so stay tuned for more...ENJOY!

Brush Pen Sketches!!!

Just thought I'd share some random ink brush sketches with all you guys in bloggerland today. I bought a new Tombow brushpen and I've been having lots of fun with it lately. I've also been looking at the great Craig Thompson (Blankets, Carnet de Voyage) , an amazing comic artist who's got great brushwork and this is me trying to get the same feel with my art.

I'll make sure to post more of these brush pen work here in the next few weeks so tune in regularly, kids!

Old west Banker

Lately, I've been reading Amid Amidi's CARTOON MODERN which has been inspiring me to do looser, more stylized drawings and this was the result. This guy is a banker in the old west done in the old daguerrotype style of photography with a monochormatic sepia tone.

Happy New Year! Two interesting charcters.

Just a couple of people that stood out to me when sketching at the cafe the other day. The guy on top looked like a professor at Berkeley and the one on the bottom was this super trendy asian girl.

Happy New Year Everyone!!!
