Billy sketches

Little Billy was a character in my first year film at CalArts. In the film, he has a crush on his teacher. I haven't drawn him in years and for some reason, I did a bunch of doodles of him last week when I was bored at work. Here they are....enjoy!

All Aboard!!!! Lamps!

So, the other day, my bus was half an hour late (thanks Muni, you SUCK), causing me to miss my bullet train to Redwood City.... What this means is that instead of getting on the train and having only three stops to get to my destination, I had to sit through like 7 other stops. Instead of just sitting there, I decided I would draw the lamp at each city's train station. Here they are in numbered order : (Click to enlarge picture)

It was pretty amazing to see the variety of each city's lamp design. Some are very ornate (like the ones in San Carlos) and some are ugly and utilitarian (like the ones in Hillsdale). So if you are ever fortunate (or unfortunate ) enough to sit through a lengthy trainride, make sure to check out the difference in design for each one of their stops....it may just amaze you!

Commute Sketch- Chinese man on the train

Since I've been commuting to work over the last month, I've been using that time to do productive things such as reading and sketching....

This was an old chinese man on the northbound Caltrain to SanFrancisco. I think he had a super hard day at work which would explain why he was WIPED OUT for the whole 35 minute trainride. I was fortunate enough to see that he had nobody sitting across from him so I took the seat and sketched him the whole time:) This was done with pen and prisma color.
